The steel industry worldwide is passing through a critical phase today wherein the future looks promising though not quite certain. The domestic steel industry is also poised for take-off based on the possible economic growth which needs value addition based on backward and forward integration of the system.

Our steel industry has matured over the years, making India one of the emerging major steel-producing nation in the world, be it in terms of technology, quality or cost efficiencies. Past records says that Over the past years India has shown a trend of increase in steel production. To give a momentum to the growth, there is urgent need of much more efforts to raise the production levels to reach the scale of operations, other countries has achieved.
